Does he deserve a second chance?

My ex-boyfriend asks me to forgive him and to give him a second chance!I don't know what to do.I love him but I am afraid.I don't want to be hurt for a second time!But I know that I'll feel sorry if I don't give him a chance.I think he can't live without me now!But I don't know...I can ask my friends but I know what will be able to say-he's a creep.Just let him go.But I can't.I'm upset,people!!!
